We love bbq sauce around here so when we received a new kind to try we couldn’t wait.   Herman T’s BBQ Sauce Mix is a special blend of spices to make the perfect sauce to complement any food, you can cover your meat in a marinade or you can just dip it.  We tried ours with chicken nuggets one day and put some on a burger another.  This is some GOOD stuff!   Add ketchup and water and cook it a bit on the stove.  You can also just use the mix as a dry rub on the meat.   This mixes up so good, has a great texture and is great to taste.  Honestly I have nothing negative to say about it, you have to try it!

Herman T. Jones is Brian Lewis’ grandfather.  Lewis went to culinary school and decided to take his grandfather’s recipe and make a mix so you could always have fresh BBQ sauce.  The website has a great video showing you how he makes it and you get to learn the history of the sauce.

To mix up the sauce just as the recipe called for (1 tablespoon of mix, 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of ketchup) and simmer it on the stove.  This is fresh sauce so no more germs on the bottle or sauce that has been sitting around too long.  FRESH everytime!  If you like a spicy sauce they have spicy too!

We LOVE smores around here and we really love them in the summer when we are grilling out.  There is nothing like sitting out on the deck while evening is setting in and we grill the marshmallows over the grill with that WONDERFUL chocolate, we LOVE them!  You can have smores anytime but I think of Summer everytime I think of smores probably because it is a very summer thing for us.

I was recently able to try some of Mrs Wages Mixes.  These are mixes where you don’t have to do much at all but once they are done, it seems like you have slaved in the kitchen ALL day!  Don’t you love things that can make you feel like that about your cooking?

Chop up your own tomatoes and then add a packet of the salsa mix. Mix it all up and let stand or refrigerate briefly. And you are done!

I have LOVED these, they have one that fits every dish I have.  I hate plastic wrap and how it sticks to my hands and aluminum foil  is good for certain things but you hate to cover left overs with it because it hides what is in the dish.  And then it is just too easy to forget, I know you KNOW what I mean.

The covermates are perfect because they fit snug around your food giving it complete protection but you can see what is in the dish to remind you what leftovers are left.  They would also be great for parties where you have food out but want it to have some protection, especially outdoor events where you have to worry about bugs and dirt.  Just cover and then when your ready to get more just take the cover off and get what you want.  Perfect!
