Rummino

We received Rummino recently to review.  We LOVE games here and they are so great for a fun family night or having friends over or just because.  My husband and I have always enjoyed playing the card game rum,  so we were excited to try this.   It is a fun game,  it doesn’t take you long to really get into it and it is a game your older children could play with you for sure.  The tiles are a really nice size with big letters so they are easy to see.  I’m not sure the younger kids would get it all but some might.  This would make a great game for Family night, game night or just a get together.
Order yours HERE for just $19.99.
I was given this game to review!  Thanks to Family Review Network and Rummio for this opportunity!

BEFOUR You Know

What better way to particpate in the Family Night Challange then to get a new game.  Sometimes we just long to play something different, I was blessed enough to get the game BeFour You know  from Patch Products  to review.

This is a FUN game for sure, it plays up to 4 players and you each get a color that is a secret to the other players, your goal is to have a straight line of 4 of your color and you win.  You can even try to trick your opponents by pretending to try to get a color that isn’t yours but you have to be cautious in your bluff, because it could cost you the game if your not careful.

I played this game with my two boys and we had a lot fun trying to figure out who had what color.   This is a wonderful family game and perfect for the ages recommended, 7 and up. It comes in a nice square box that is well packaged and perfect for the game shelf. The great thing is,  the game doesn’t take a long time,  so,  younger children with short attention spans can play without problem. You can play one game or several games if you want to go longer, it’s all up to you.

Patch Products was nice enough to provide a rebate for my readers for a free game if you buy Buzzword.  Attached is the rebate form saying if you buy Buzzword from a retail store (available at Target, Walmart, Borders and other fine retailers) you can send in your original receipt to us and receive one of our new games for free! Up to a $25 value. (The games you can choose to get for free are Pass the Pup, Know It or Blow It, BeFOUR You Know, Now What? and 100 Dumb Things.

Also this rebate is great for Million Minute Family Challenge because if families are looking for games to play during the Challenge they basically get 2 games for the price of one!

You can get the rebate HERE

Thanks to Patch Products for this great opportunity!

The Million Minute Family Challenge

Patch Products, gearing up for another exciting Million Minute Family Challenge!

We LOVE board games here!  We love to have family over and have game nights and we have a blast doing it so when I was asked to share this campaign I was thrilled to.  There is something about playing board games that bonds us together.  We laugh, talk, and learn together and it just gives us great quality time with our families and friends.  So join the million minute family challenge, get the board games out and have a blast together!

In a crazy, hectic world, we tend to lose sight of some of the most important and enjoyable things in our life such as family, fun and education.

According to The Nielsen Company, in 2008, the average American watched approximately 142 hours of TV in one month. In addition, people who used the Internet were online 27 hours a month and people who used a mobile phone spent 3 hours a month watching mobile video.

Patch Products®, a leading manufacturer of board and card games, is determined to reverse that trend by bringing families and friends together with their annual Million Minute Family Challenge™. The Million Minute Family Challenge, encourages interaction and communication among family and friends by setting a national goal of playing games for a total of 1 million minutes from Sept. 1 through Dec. 31.

Last year, a total of 298 groups, clubs, classrooms, libraries and families throughout the nation, surpassed the 1 million minutes goal for a record-setting 1,416,525 minutes!

With our current economic situation, people are thinking twice about high-priced activities like dining out, going to the movies or attending sporting events. Instead, consumers want to go back to the basics with items that are economical and have a high play value such as board games. With board games varying so much in complexity, there is something for everyone!

From a simple children’s game of Patch’s Pass the Pup™, to the mind-boggling games like Know It or Blow It™, there is an opportunity for all ages and intellects. Research has shown the enormous benefits of family communication and that playing games is a great tool to get the family together. Playing games helps build self-confidence, creativity, critical thinking skills, sharpen vocabulary, increase attention, improve listening and concentration skills, teach positive sportsmanship and much more!

James Allaire, a fourth-year Million Minute Family Challenge veteran, agrees that there are many benefits to game-playing and finds it very valuable and rewarding.

“I find that participating in games is like taking fabric and weaving it into a quilt from which we can all take comfort in,” said Allaire. “I would recommend the Million Minute Family Challenge to anyone because it’s good for social interaction; it’s a fun thing to with family members and friends; games challenge the mind and makes one think about problem solving and some games even teach history and or how to interact with others,” he said.

Allaire plans to continue participating in the Million Minute Family Challenge this year and have more of his friends and family get involved. In fact, Allaire’s nephew is getting involved, asking for 12 hours of gaming for his birthday.

Families or groups interested in participating in the Million Minute Family Challenge are encouraged to visit www.millionminute.com for sign up information, game ideas, party ideas, fun facts, irresistible snack ideas and beyond! It’s been said that life’s a game—enjoy it with the Million Minute Family Challenge!

In addition to Patch Products, this year’s supporters who are helping to bring awareness to the Million Minute Family Challenge are KOA®, Great Wolf Lodge® resort locations in the U.S., Blue Harbor Resort™ and Turnoff Week.

Crazy4Jigsaws

We received two months of premium membership of the website Crazy4Jigsaws.  This is a really fun site, especially if you are a puzzle lover. We as a family are really enjoying this site.   I have always loved puzzles and this website makes them so much fun.  They have over 800 puzzles from 12 pieces to 300 pieces.  You can even download your own pictures to make a puzzle with.  My husband and I are competing like crazy trying to beat each others time to build specific puzzles.  This has become one of my daughters FAVORITE sites, she is only 5 and she LOVES it.  She asks me constantly to set her up on the puzzle site, she really loves the animal ones.

You have to try it, you will become addicted too!  There is free puzzles to do on this site, hours of fun!   A premium membership is only 4.95 a month and with that you get the extras which includes

  • choose the number of pieces
  • open up the puzzle into full screen
  • choose the cut of the pieces or rotate the pieces
  • save puzzles when we need to stop
  • change the background area
  •  “This review was written for Family Review Network as part of a program for Crazy4Jigsaws, who supplied the premium membership to their site.”
