We are loving this mirror and I will have to say my husband is really LOVING this mirror, he can not believe how well it works, he really loves it for shaving.   We have attached it to the shower and he can use it for shaving right there.   The ToiletTree Fogless mirror uses silicone which is like a glue substance that you stick on your tile and then you attach the mirror, and it is holding it.  It has not fallen off once which really amazes me, almost everything I have ever tried to stick in the shower falls off shortly after putting it there.   To use the mirror all you have to do is lift it off, fill it with hot water and snap it back on.  The hot water is the trick as that is what keeps it from fogging up!  Then if you do get spots on it or didn’t fill it with hot water, just use the attached squeegee to wipe it clean.  There is a shelf that is included and will hold 2 razors.

I think this is a great mirror for the shower and it really works, no fog!

Most kids have just had their first day of school, even for us homeschoolers many of us are starting our school year, going back to coops and special activities.  Regardless if you are going to a regular school or other places this fall it won’t be long until cold season and as we experienced last year with swine flu germs are everyhere.   Millions of school days are lost each year due to the common cold and flu.  The surfaces at school are covered in bacteria! According to Seventh Generation survey, 82 percent of parents with kids in grades K-5 fret about the germs in their children´s classrooms.  They are everywhere.

I have always loved Dr. Greenes website, his site has helped me understand so many questions I have had about my child’s health.  Seventh Generation and best-selling author and pediatrician, Dr. Alan Greene shared some tips to help parents protect their child´s health during back-to-school season. Dr. Greene suggests taking the following precautions:

* Reap the benefits of probiotics like those found in yogurt. A recent study showed that children who received enough probiotics daily throughout the cold and flu season had a significant reduction in the number of illnesses they had and, when they did get sick, the symptoms were both milder and didn’t last as long.

* Be sure your child is getting plenty of vitamin D from the sun, from food, or from a supplement.

* Build a strong foundation. Good food, good sleep, and good physical activity all help the immune system to flourish.

* Teach children the key times to clean their hands in the classroom. The most important times include after sneezing, coughing or using the restroom, upon leaving “high-risk” places (recess, naptime, play stations) and before meals or snacks.

* Sixty percent of teachers surveyed said that they request that parents donate disinfecting wipes to the classroom. Seventh Generation´s disinfecting wipes kill 99.99% of germs* naturally using the active ingredient thyme, a component of thyme oil which is derived from the herb thyme.

* Stress the importance of not touching their eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth

I recently received a pocket purifier to review.  This thing is very handy, do you worry about germs when you go out?  I try not to be crazy over it but I will admit after getting swine flu last year and my whole entire family being so sick it made me a little more paranoid about germs.  Now I know many germs are in the air and there is nothing we can do about them anyway but many are on surfaces that we touch everyday.  Grocery carts, public toilets and sinks, phones, and so much more.   Even if you carry soap around you can’t be putting it on constantly so having a tool like the pocket purifier helps. 

This is how it works:

The Pocket Purifier uses nanotechnology and a germicidal UV bulb (the same as is used to sterilize surgical instruments) to kill 99.9% of germs.  It works by deactivating the DNA of germs such as salmonella, MRSA, mold, fungus, e-coli, flu, etc.

Now, I will be honest, there is no way I can verify that it works.  It would be great if you could do an experiment somehow to see if it is killing germs but I did like these facts:

The company equipped a medical missions team going to Haiti after the earthquake with Pocket Purifiers to make their job in extreme conditions a bit easier. Cleaning toilets is probably the LEAST favorite chore I have!  I hate cleaning them and when you find a product that can help make it more bearable you feel like you can’t live without it.  I discovered Scrubbing Bubbles Fresh Brush and Toilet Gel products quite awhile ago and ever since I have loved them.  So I was thrilled when I was given the products to review and share with my readers.  I have used other brushes and I have to say this one is my favorite.  The handy brush has a clip that attaches to the tank for easy use and it’s white and compact so it does not leaving behind a huge, unsightly brush behind.  The features of the brush includes an easy to use applicator that slips over the refillable pads so you don’t have to touch them.  There are max pads for tougher cleaning jobs and flushable pads for the quick cleaning jobs
You just brush away the grime and then throw away the pad, wonderful!  No storing a yucky brush.  The brush does a great job in cleaning the toilet, I had no marks left behind at all and it lathers great!

 

The toilet cleaning gels have become one of my all time favorite cleaning products.  They are so easy to use as you just snap the gel disc into the holder, position the clear end of the gel disc holder against the surface of the bowl closest to the rim, press and hold the button until it clicks to the next hole, pull dispenser back and it leaves a gel behind.  The dispenser comes with a cap to protect the remaining gels.   When you flush the toilet it freshens it again and again and I LOVE the smell.  It adds  a beautiful smell to my bathroom after every flush.  My husband loves these too, he loves how it keeps our toilet cleaner and fresh smelling and you know when a man notices it has to be good, LOL

I have LOVED these, they have one that fits every dish I have.  I hate plastic wrap and how it sticks to my hands and aluminum foil  is good for certain things but you hate to cover left overs with it because it hides what is in the dish.  And then it is just too easy to forget, I know you KNOW what I mean.

Every spring we struggle with ants.  I often joke and say we have to LIVE on a massive antfarm.  In the past I have sprayed bug spray (which I hate because it is so toxic for the animals and children) , I have set off  bug bombs and even put out lemon because someone told me ants hate lemons.  Nothing has worked.  Even if you spray ants you won’t be able to get to the real source where they have their home in the cracks and small spots you can’t get to.    Terro Ant Killer is wonderful, I actually discovered it a couple of years ago and it has been the ANSWER for us!  You just put out your traps and watch the ants come to them, they eat and take it back to their homes where you can’t get and within a week or two you see less ants.  I find that if I put one out everytime I see an ant by mid spring I have no more ants in my home for the rest of the summer.  It is truly wonderful!   The only downside is you have to watch the ants crawling around for a while, you are not suppose to mess with the trap or kill any ants around it.  That just scares them off and they don’t take it back to their homes so it does take some patience.  But it is well worth it to me.

I recently received a candle from Glade from their new holiday collection.  I LOVE scented candles and I have always LOVED Glade.  This one did not disappoint.  I loved the scent (Bayberry Spice), it smelled just like a Christmas tree.  I lit it one night when we had guest and had several compliments on the scent.  I lit it in the kitchen and you could smell it throughout the main areas of the house, I love when the scent is that good.  I really love the new container for the candle.  It was a tin can and has a nice decorative look to it.
