About Dr. Adkins
For more than 35 years O. Raye Adkins has participated in the education of children of poverty. Thirty-two of the years were spent in public education, working at all levels - elementary, middle, high school, central office administration, and as an elementary principal. She also worked at the college level as an adjunct professor. Presently, she contracts as a consultant, presenting workshops to teachers working with children in poverty. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
As the founder of O Raphael, Inc., Raye brings both her personal and professional experience to this new non-profit corporation. The corporation is named in honor of her father Raphael Orval Beason who, at the age of twenty, was killed in the Port Chicago ammunition explosion while serving in the Navy. The explosion took the lives of 323 men stationed in Port Chicago, California. Her father’s death occurred while her mother was pregnant with Raye, and his untimely death forever changed her life.
Living with the circumstances of her father’s death from a very early age has given her a keen understanding of children who are living “without.” “Without” includes children without parents, homes, educational opportunities, or other basic necessities of life. Raye’s life goal of helping others has been a guiding factor in her commitment to community service. Participating in the education of children has been a lifelong dream for Raye - one which is being realized with the establishment of O Raphael and through a plan that God has placed in her heart. 
I really enjoyed the bar of lotion. I have never had lotion that looked like soap before. You just rub between your fingers and rub your hands together. This lotion SMELLS so good! After you apply it you smell it all day, it is just wonderful! I love that this lotion is made out of all natural ingredients. This lotion comes in a wonderful little tin that fits perfect in your purse or bag and would be great to keep when the lotion is gone for paperclips, safety pins, etc. The best part is the proceeds going to fund schools that really need the help and I love supporting products that are helping others. That is a win win! You get a great product to enjoy and it helps others who need it.
